Your points are all well taken and accepted, but I still believe my point is 100% valid. Go back and read it carefully. MY point is about the hidden agenda. About WHO is pushing for this to be passed into law, and why.
Sure, lead can be harmful if it's not understood. So can electricity. But the government is not trying to outlaw that.
Lead is a metal that is at the core of the arms industry. Tire weights are NOT part of that industry, but they are the mainstay for the shooting sport for those that make their own bullets.
So, the Wheel Weights CAN BE used to make bullets. I would bet that 99+% of them are not used that way. But that means nothing to those that are trying to get them outlawed.
Lead oxide is poisonous. That's true. If you eat it or handle it enough. So is ammonia that you buy at the grocery store, and it emits poisonous fumes too. There are several people that die from use of both ammonia and bleach every year. More than die of oxides from lead. But there is no potential for making bullets out of ammonia or Clorox.

But what does any of their alarmism have to do with going around in circles on tires all over the USA? Is there ANY evidence that such WWs are causing harm to the environment? Any at all?
Nope.........
But you could make bullets out of them.
Look to the politicians and see who they are. See who's backing these bills.
You will then know what the big picture is
The "greenies” are in approval, but more than that, the some of industrialists are too. Those that have been on record as being anti-gun for years.
This bill is old, and was defeated, but I am pretty sure it's going to be back in another form.
Keep you eyes open and watch.
