I have two ZG47's (8X64 and a 9.3X62) both are large ring. I also have a BRNO model 21 (that looks very similar to the ZG47) that gun is a small ring. The VZ24 are military and although a good action they are crude when compared to the commercial guns. The BRNO model 21, 22, and the ZG47's are some of the very best of the post war Mauser type guns made.
