For me numbers have never been the thing.

Africa: 1 buff and 13 plains game

New Zealand: a couple of trophies. This is terrible as there should be more from NZ as it is a great place to hunt.

Australia: a couple dozen deer, of which a few were trophies and the rest for venison. Feral game including pigs, goats, donkeys, other medium game, probably one to two thousand.

The best thing - all the Aussie hunting was done more or less for free, except for the last couple of years when I paid for pig hunting access no less.

A pig hunt has always been a traditional way to warm up for an African safari. Shooting the same rifle and ammo for live practice.

In the good old days a tally of less than a couple hundred ferals would have the farmer or grazier thinking you were a waste of time. When we learned what to do, I would hunt for myself some of the time, but then "bomb" up mobs taking close to 100% of the ferals, often by ambushing whole herds.
To get some serious numbers.

Pigs are down in number now due to aerial shooting campaigns, drought and shooting for meat sales.

Goats have become a marketable commodity if they can be caught and are profitable. Still usually can shoot some but have to pay for each one - around A$30.

Donkeys - still lots around in some places but far far away. Stupid creatures.

Those things that hop. Yes but need tags or a permit. Good running practice.
