I think the 458 3" was made in Africa because powder availability prevented getting 2300 f/s from the 458 Lott with 500 grainers.

There are three 45s based on the 404 that I am aware of. The 450 Guns and Ammo (G&A) and the 460 G&A. Both are blown out 404 cases and the 450 G&A case is shortened to 2.5"

Then the African PH Roy Vincent has the 450 Vincent and 460 Vincent which again are a shortened and full length blown out 404 case.

There is the 450 Howell. This is blown out 404 shortened back to work in standard length actions.

There is also a line of wildcats which I think have a name like Ultra Cats and are all based on the Remington Ultra case.
