If you like it, it fits and it handles well and is balanced to your liking, do your best to negotiate a better price, but buy it.

If you want to buy an investment, go to your broker and buy some of the depressed financial stocks.

Here's an idea, take what you negotiate from the asking price and buy some of the harder hit financial stocks. If you get around to selling the rifle before you die, but at least 18mos from now, the financial stocks will have covered any "over" payment times some.

Mere $'s isn't a sufficient reason to hold back, if you've got the $'s.
