In reply to: I do not know what other rifles you have, but it does not matter. If you scope you 9,3 Krieghoff it will probably become your favorite big game rifle under 40 cal. I say this after using my Chapuis for the last 5 years. You will not regret it. I would however be sure the scope is mounted as low as possible. My Chapuis double with the scope handles better than any other scoped rifle I have ever used. Neat, sweet.......petite.
450#2 You've hit the nail squarly on the head there! I like the scope to be as low as possible too, and it really does make a medium cal double so much more versatile.
DBBill, I scoped my 400-350 double a couple of years back and fitted a 2-1/2 power Leupold compact and set it up so low that there is just enough clearance for my thumb to work the top lever. Makes a big difference if you have to shoot in low light when the bead can be hard to see. 99% of the time I shoot this rifle with open sights and only fit the detachable scope for special occasions. It's very nice to have that option though.
