Gentlemen,

Good to see enthusiasm for hunting and conservation in India. The MP proposals still have several hurdles to cross - we had a Cabinet Minister, Maneka Gandhi who happened to be a patron of PETA India. Also PETA India's head, Jason something or the other is an Australian export - Why did Australia have to send that joker to the country I was born in?

These days India is a lot less corrupt and it is certainly becoming a lot more efficient than it was even when I was a boy. There is a lot more money there for one thing and I am confident that there would be a tremendous amount of pressure on the government to get things done right. I agree with you completely on your point that the country's wildlife would not be saved unless there was a commercial value to it and it was protected and exploited as a valuable resource.

I am hoping that with increased conservation and revenues generated from the initial hunting of pigs and Nilgai, there would be an incentive to make sure that other species replicate enough to have numbers available to hunters.

You should have tried going for boars over "bait" with rotten fruit, rotten rice or wheat, some fish bones and moonshine planted at different points in the Sholas in the South. Works beautifully if you do it right. No need for beaters or dogs either.
