A non-shooting friend was given an old shotgun-he said it was made by Hollis & Sons, and by his description it sounds like a muzzleloading SXS 12 gauge-hoping he brings it the next time he comes to the area so I can get more specific details. He wanted the gun more "to have it" than to use it, although he hopes to start hunting soon(with something more modern). I had never heard of the company, anyone have information on them? Also, is there any collector value other than simply as an old gun? He lives several hours away so it's tough to go with him if he tries to sell, but at the same time I want to make sure he's not selling something he shouldn't-I did tell him to keep it, but I'm a sucker for any gun older than me, and that's not very old(30). Thanks for any information.
