I tend to agree with you about his "self promotion". I'm also not to fond of his quantum leap into comercialization. I lost some respect for him when I started seeing those advertisements for the Sure Fire Flashlights, with him holding it alongside a downed Cape Buffalo in broad daylight. That being said, I believe he's a wealth of knowledge when it comes to hunting.
