It all depends on the twist rate of your barrel.
A 1 in 30" will shoot sabots with very good results but normally wont shoot lead slugs where as a 1 in 36" will shoot plain lead slugs very well and the sabots will go west.
recently I had the good fortune to participate in some trials with a whole batch of different slugs and sabots from many different makers and a lot of different guns and barrel configurations.with some interesting results I know that they are expensive but you have to perservere to get the right shell to match you gun
