Given the same or similar weight of projectile, same velocity, the 'power' advantage on easily killed game is always with the larger bore size, although penetration might favour the smaller one, for harder to dispatch animals. There, the smaller bore might answer. As 9.3 asks, it depends on the 'task' one needs to answer.
