I misread the markings, instead of "H.D. Schulnigg" it is H. Dschulnigg, as 500grains pointed out. Found a little info on the net once I got the name right. The "H" is for Helmut Dschulnigg. Turns out the company is still around and has a website but it looks like they are primarily an agent for other makers now. Could be wrong though as the site is in German, I just couldn't find any reference to them currently making arms. Anyway, I took the rifle back onto our 25 yard indoor range to try out those wonderful double set triggers and the old Swarovski (reticle physically moves when adjusted). It put 3 in one ragged hole. This is a really neat old rifle in fabulous shape that I'd love to have if I didn't have so many other irons in the fire. Good thing is that my best hunting buddy decided to give it a home for the decided on $1000 so hopefully I'll at least get to see it in action. That is if I can persuade him to actually hunt deer with a .243.....
