Guy had started burning grass before I got there and was continuing to do so while I was hunting. We did see some dagga boys in the fresh grass coming back into one of the burned areas.
I am not sure how much will have been burned when you get there as I know it is not their plan to burn it all or burn it at the same time. They would like to have some thick cover for the animals and other areas in varying stages of regrowth.
We did not hunt the areas with concentrations of buffalo, those were down on one of the rivers. Nonetheless we saw a couple of groups of dagga boys, bumped a herd at a water hole while pre-baiting for leopard, and saw tracks of another herd by the road. Hopefully you will see what you are looking for.
Later in the year, though, with the grass mostly gone and the foliage on many of the trees down I understand that spotting game at longer distances will be easier.
