I agree,I wouldn't consider such a setup versatile for many African situations.

If I were to consider such a takedown setup for Africa I would think that a scoped 416 Rigby and something LARGER like an open sighted 450 Dakota or ?500 A Square or other Rigby based cartridge would be a great combo.

The scoped 416 would be great at reasonable distances and the 500 for close range affairs.The 416 could be used for most everything and the 500 for Ele.Sounds like fun to me!!

Whether this is even possible using the big straight cased rigby and the belted case 500 A Square I will defer to those much more knowledgible than myself.
