Larcher: I am more of a shotgunner and I use the right pocket of my shooting vest or jacket so I cant comment on the use of a cartridge belt as I havent used one.
what I can comment on however is that simile you used ..."and the sun hit like a golden Cassius Clay" very cool turn of phrase!!!
I must admit,,,, I'll be borrowing that one !
