Am I missing something? You have the option of .308 and 30/06 and you want to rechamber to 30/30? My guess is that you could reduce the load in either of the two available calibres to approximate the 30/30 load if you wish, and of course have the regulation screw to get the thing to shoot straight.

I understand the "silk purse & sow's ear" quote but do not think it is appropriate. Please look at it for what it is; a fun double that you can use in the bush, swamps or whatever, without stressing about the gun, in an appropriate calibre for 90% of Australian and North American game.

It does not put itself out as a fine British double, please give credit when a manufacturer has the "balls" to produce a double for the masses that is affordable. Why do you choose to continually look down your nose at this gun. I thought that as a double rifle & gun fan you would welcome newbies to the fold, and who knows, after they have cut their teeth on a Baikal double they may graduate to something bigger and better.

A Baikal double in 30/06 is better than the corresponding remchester in my opinion, and as has been mentioned here before, hunting with the double does enhance the experience after all isn't hunting all about the experience?

Good luck to Baikal for going where angels fear to tread and hopefully their success spurs the other manufacturers into taking up this market. Also for what it is worth, I personally do not like O/U doubles, therefore the Fabarm is not an option (for me) even though it is an amazing value rifle.
