Most of the gun clubs stateside have arbitrary rules that is forced on anybody who wants to use the range. One particular club/public range has people actually handle your weapon to insure that you actually have it unloaded during the cease fire period. In fact, NO RAPID FIRE is something that is pretty common also. A lot of the clubs are trying to appease the ANTI's by somehow making up a bunch silly shit so's they can say that only sportsmen with SPORTING RIFLES use the facilities. In fact, I very seldom use public ranges anymore.
