Erik,

Most clubs here allow only single loading. Some clubs allow loading magazines on handguns but long arms are supposed to be single loaded only unless you get permission from the range master. The clubs in Wisconsin allow loading a magazine as a matter of routine and no permission of any kind is required there. India is very similar in the rules at ranges there but then Indians shoot mostly rimfire rifles in ISSF style matches at ranges and they are accustomed to this.

It is a bit of a pain single loading my Mauser and that is why I avoid shooting it in Illinois unless I visit my good friend and business partner Mark at his beautiful place in Michael Il.
