I've been using the 380 gr Rhino bullet for some time, and I am quite impressed by it. It has proven very accurate, and in the .375 H&H can be loaded to 2200 fps. I tested this bullet by trying to make it fail at close range by firing into wet drill mud from 20 yards at 2300 fps from my .375 Ultra. I used Barnes 270 and 300 gr X's as a control. The Rhino slug would not fail, but the petals broke off the Barnes bullets. The recovered Barnes bullets retained 72% 0f their original weight, and the Rhino kept over 90%, and expanded to an amazing .92" after penetrating 32", and leaving a much larger wound cavity.

A flat nosed solid, such as the monolithic offering from Barnes, will fly close enough to connect out to 200 yards as we see below -

Range________.375/380 Rhino______.375/300 Barnes Solid

10____________-.85"________________-.85"
25_______________0____________________0
50____________+1.0"________________+1.0"
100___________+1.5"________________+2.5"
150______________0_________________+2.5"
200___________-3.8"___________________0

If we follow the logic of having a soft in the chamber with solids below, when the solid is need the animal may well be at longer range, where the slightly flatter trajectory of the solid will be an asset.
