I know exactly what you mean with the "why me" feeling during the split second an accident happens, and you have no control over it. It's a nasty feeling. I hope you'll regain full use of your hand soon, and that the pain will eventually go away.

Just make sure you do excatly what the physiotherapist tells you to. Even though it will hurt. There is quite a bit of truth to the old saying: "No pain no gain". You might also find that the pain will increase substantially on the day after therapy. On the otherhand, don't blindly accept too much pain without telling the therapist, as there is a fine balance between just enough, and over doing it. Over doing it will naturally be bad in the long run. So it's better to use a few extra months if needed, to make sure it's done right.

All in all though, the thing that's most important is that we can hold our children in our arms, and have family that cares for us. Just like you mention.
