Can anyone tell me about the .350 Mauser as used in the early days of African game hunting ? I cannot find much about the caliber but in some of my African books, they talk about such noteables as Bell, Judd, Cunningham, etc. using the caliber. Is there anyone currently hunting with this caliber? Thanks.

Well, ".350 Mauser" might also mean the .350 Rigby cartridge in a Mauser-actioned rifle. Some of the old books/authors weren't always very accurate or descriptive when describing the rifles and cartridges they used.

Original ballistics for the .350 Rigby Magnum (rimless) were a .35 caliber 225 gr bullet at 2625 fps. The cartridge was introduced by the John Rigby company in 1908.
