Anybody familiar with a maker known as E Peter in Wiesbaden? Just got in a lovely old custom Mauser on consignment today that is has the following inscription on the barrel: Gunsmith E Peter Wiesbaden. It belonged to the owner's father who recently passed and he knows nothing of it other than his dad brought it back from overseas while in the Air Force. It's an 8x57, the receiver is stamped 1938, has minimal scroll engraving on the receiver, a fully engraved floor plate with roe deer, schnabel forend tip, shadowline cheekpiece & Hensoldt scope in claw mounts. It's in remarkable condition and obviously saw little use. Trying to determine an approximate value for the owner. My guess is in the $1000 - $1500 range. Ideas?
