The recoil of a .375 is not insignificant. When I first got mine I fired around 25 rounds from it building up loads wearing only a light shirt. It was hot. I ended up with a black bruise te size of my palm and it hurt a lot. Never again, I don't have a PAST recoil pad or anything like that. I put a small towel on my shoulder and a jacket over that. It seems to do the trick. Usually only fire around 12 rounds, plus or minus.

In the field however you will not feel the recoil at all.

Load a 300 gr bullet to about 2300 fps to 2450 fps and it will still do the job on buffalo etc.
