Reducing recoil of .375 H&H
      12/07/06 01:31 PM

Hello,

I went out and fired my new to me .375 H&H the other day and ended up with pretty nice bruise on my shoulder. I am using the rifle for just plinking at the moment and these 300gr Hornady soft point loads come back pretty hard, so I need to find something a little lighter. The first thing I was suprised at when I fired the .375 is that the recoil is not as punishing as the size of the cartridge would suggest, but after six rounds my shoulder was getting pretty sore.

Would the recoil of a 235gr Speer over a starting load be much lighter in the recoil department?

How about a PAST shoulder pad, do they help much?

Jared
