I am interested in the accuracy of the numbers of animals described.

Is the wildlife in such a dire state?

Or are these comments again the traditional greenie refrain, where "of course, this species is near extinction."

Usually applied in for example, African documentaries to game such as elephant, lion, leopard, hunting dog, dassies, wildebeest, bongo, Zulus, crocodile, Mugabe, kangaroos and other species.

Very interesting article and a amazing range and variation of wildlife.
