I have noted those vents on the bolt, still I wonder if there's much history of folks venting the breech ring of the action.

Have you ever had a primer let go or a case split in a Mauser?
I don't expect it to happen, but things sometimes go wrong with firing pins and brass. Just curious more than anything...
