I have done what new guy suggest. Unless after elephant, in which case I was carrying my DR and the 375 was in the truck. You should carry the DR since if a close opportunity arises you will want to use it. If the opportunity is further away than you want to shoot with your DR then you may well have the time to switch.

Also if you bump into some elephants up close in the brush, which seems to happen often enough, you will just feel better with your DR in your hands.

I have found that a DR is so much more pleasant to carry that it makes up for a pound or more in weight. My scoped 375 weighs 9.5lbs and my DR 10.5lbs and I would pick the DR to hump all day; it just carries easier.

Because of a couple of run ins with nasty cows I think that when you have shot your DG and your DR is relegated to the truck, that the 375 with a soft up the spout and all solids below is the way to go.
