Would this be the Accurate Innovations stock?

If it is, then the stock I have got from them is pretty high, as it should be for a scoped rifle that won't see its irons used. This doesn't sound like what your looking for so double check which pattern will suit you.

Also the standard checkering just doesn't cut it. it is too shallow and too far apart and neither looks good or provides any grip. You will need to consider upgrading the checkering if it the Accurate Inovations stock you're looking at.

Lowering the comb and refinishing shouldn't cost a bundle. Add in bedding and maybe a cross bolt and I can see what you're thinking though.
