About BRNO stock profile and fit.
: Most Americans are taught to crawl a high combed stock and stretch forward to the scope, presssing their cheeks hard into the comb.
: Most Europeans are taught to shoot standing straight, neck held straight, with head erect. This is also the position used for international competition. This position is much more accurate offhand, than tilting the head forward, pressing the cheek firmly INTO the comb. The reason is balance is mantained if the ears are as horizontal as possible. Tilt the ears and the balance suffers, increasing movement. a Increased accuracy is the reason for this design's use.
: In the USA, more shooting is also done from rests, whereas hunting in Europe shows more offhand shooting, or shooting standing with a single walking stick rest, requiring the best stance for accuracy. The Euro-stock is designed to the head erect stance, and with my BRNO and CZ "Lux" stock, provides much improved accuracy when shooting from that position. Shooting gophers offhand from 100yd. to 150yd. is much easier with the Euro stock, than with the higher combed stocks. It's a stock that was disigned to give the best possible accuracy from standing and erect shooting positions, simply put.(and one I prefer, actually) the same type of shooting position is done with the American Longrifle in many designs, and especially the Lancaster country and similar designs, which took their root designs from the German Steutzen rifles.
