I have noticed that elephant hide gets really grody with use since it is so rough. It tends to pick up dirt, hold it and look really dirty. An ammo belt would be fine, as it is ok for ammo belts to be grody. Same for gun cases. Once I saw some ele hide seat covers and they were so disgusting with ground in dirt that I would not have wanted to sit on them. So whatever you make, I suggest it be an item that is still usable if dirty or unsightly.
