The Jefferys did have some pitting under the forestock on both barrles. What does this mean about its
use? Is this just grit rubbing or rust. I didn't see any rust, but it was re-blued I think. The express sight
was loose as well.

If a double gets damp and left together, often any water will stay between the foreend
and the barrels and therefore rust here. Then if reblued, the barrels are sanded back
to take away any rust but the pits stay and the blue goes over the top. Nothing serious
as long as they aren't deep. It can happen very quickly if in tropical climates.

Was the Jeffrey 375 Flanged Magnum ?

Interesting you say made in the 60's and well used in Africa. I thought alot
of the hunting had died out in Africa by the 60's ?

What were the bores like in the Jeffrey ?
