Model 1905 versus Model 1908 barrel profile
      08/01/26 04:41 AM

Does anyone have both a Model 1908 and Model 1905 carbine with 19.7 inch barrel? I am curious if there is any difference in the barrel profiles between the two. Is the muzzle diameter the same on both? Thinking a Model 1908 originally in 8x56 could have the barrel bored out to 35 cal and re-chambered to 9x56. Looks like there are a couple of Model 1908s that have worn out barrels available. Having them re-barreled would be expensive due to integral sling swivel/barrel ring that is part of the original barrel. Do not want to re-stock.
