Here in B.C. rainbow trout caught in shallow lakes under about 50' deep, taste muddy.
I thought that was how B.C.'s rainbow trout tasted, until I tasted 'bows' caught in Francois lake, were I "camp" in my caravan all summer. These are wonderful eating, never muddy. Even better are the char or lake trout and lake white fish. As good or better than "properly cooked" halibut. Francois lake's deepest is just over 900', but where I fish and catch the rainbows is up to and just over 100feet deep.
