It would actually be a very good cartridge especially with modern bullets. Apart from really big beasts such as Elephant it would take most others quite nicely. A rifle like that Browning is worth about $4k and would be a nice rifle at that price.

Interestingly when that Browning was first listed the seller had it down with some strange hybrid caliber including 404 Jeffery in the name although the barrel clearly shows 10.75x68. I contacted him to help him out with the correct information and he then offered the rifle to me as he recognised that I knew something about it and the cartridge where most others wouldn't. When I told him that it was a nice gun but worth about $4k max and he would have trouble selling at the original $7K he instantly ceased communicating. Looks however that I may have been correct or at least on the right path LOL.
