John,

I agree. That gun looks like a gun to promote Blaser's engineering and gun making skills.

The shooter makes the rifle seem like a doable big game rifle, firing 8 shots fairly quickly from the shoulder. It takes a very good DR to shoot 8 large caliber shots quickly without the barrels moving due to heating, ruining a group.

If money wasn't an issue, I also would like one but in a mid-range caliber (like 7x64) to cut the weight down and, frankly, there are very few wild elephants or even hippos in Georgia or even elsewhere in the USA where I hunt and fish. (of course, excluding obese people)

The target bullet spread doesn't look too good though.
Lots of spread lower left side, some in the black, half in the white, However he was firing fast over the shoulder.

Funny comment about the human hippos.

I dream of water buffalo, Cape Buffalo, and elephant culling. A.404 Jeffery bolt action double rifle firing 400 or 450 gr .423" bullets would be useful. Certainly would have lots of quick follow up shots available.

I did get a small water buffalo cull on the edge ofcArnhemland. 14 water buffalo I think it was. I used my 9.3x74R Tikka double rifle with 286 gr Woodleigh Weldcores. Other than brain shots, more than one shot was usually required. The Tikka has ejectors, fast reloading, empties shooting off over my shoulder.
