From a previous thread on trade labels:
"Here is a pic of the brand new (old stock) Jeffery leather trade label I acquired many years ago,
from an out-worker supplying gun-cases to the trade. I am guessing the Jeffery orders had long since dried up,
and iirc the widow was selling off stuff from the workshop following the death of the case-maker."



I had intended to use this in my Jeffery .400NE double rifle case, but that rifle is late 1930s and has the Golden Square address on the rib.
Wouldn't have been pukka!
Will have to check actual dates, but the King Street address might be correct for this pre-WWI shotgun.

I'll take the bottles of red wine, though...!

Edit: Looks like W.J. Jeffery & Co were at the King Street address from 1898 to 1927. Perfect!

Is it the appropriate label for 1906?

It doesn't worry me anyway though. I'll check my rifle and shotgun to see if any address is on the barrels.

I'll see if I can print it or have some do it on leather. Or on parchment or something suitable.
