I remade two 9.3x72r into 9.3x82r by soldering an extension onto the 9.3x72r cases. I ran these theu a 9.3x72 sizing die and they look fine. I will fireform these in my double rifle.

I checked with RMC and they said they could make brass cases. I will send the fireformed cases to them to assist their effort.

The good thing is that the remade cases sized completely in my 9.3x72 sizing dies. New 9.3x82 dies are 14 - 18 months out and cast ~ $250.

If I knew how to post pictures, I would post a picture of my remade 9.3x83r brass and my new rifle.

What did you use for "soldering" the extensions, lead based solder or a silver based solder?

I've successfully repaired neck cracks in some of my old Berdan primed Kynoch 404 Jeffery cases that have cracked on the first firing of factory ammo and also a few RWS cases that have cracked after many firings when I've been a bit lazy keeping up with a regular annealing progamme. For the repairs I use a 'dirty' steel rod (natural black finish) that's a slip fit in the case necks to prevent run through of the solder and use a low temp silver solder, trade name "silfos".
This works really well matching the colour of the brass cases so an invisible repair in most cases while sizing and annealing perfectly with the parent brass of the case.
