Good damascus can stand light loads. The 10 ga loads were light 2 5/8" loads. I've been shooting damascus barreled rifles and shotguns for 25 years. I've only had one that looked sketchy and that I wouldn't shoot. But, I don't usually buy the cheap twist/damascus barreled firearms. I also always do a string test. Just my opinion.
