I currently own and have hunted with a .375 H&H and a .458win. I am now going to build a "tweener" rifle, for buffalo, brown bear, etc. on an FN Mauser action currently barrelled in .338. As this action will not tolerate long cases (i.e. 416 rem), i am looking at the short case options.

Right now, I am considering 416 taylor, 425 express and 404 Dakota. I am leaning tword the 404 Dakota.

Does anyone have any insight on this? I know there is not too much difference between them, but I am curious if anyone has any experience or opinions...thanks.
