I haven't shot my Kodiak Express .58 for many years. I've forgotten how I used to load it. I never went to much trouble. I want to revisit it.

I've started shooting a 0t a BP Pistol club. And as a newbie am learning a lot from watching and talking to the guys. A new experience for me starting as a clueless beginner.

Re the Kodiak rifle. I have the primer caps and the FFG BP I used. I purchased some minie style lead bullets to shoot in it when buying the rifle. They never worked very well.

I think I lubed the minies with Bore Butter. Using my variable measure and loaded them over 80 or 90 grs of FFg.

Did I use a wad? Or a patch? I don't think so.

Now have been told where I probably can purchase some .58 lead balls, so want to see if an accurate shooting load can be worked out.

Should a lubed wad be used over the ball? A patch? The ball lubed? The ball patched and lubed?

Between shots should one push a cap in and out the barrels to clean it, remove any heated debris?

Advice appreciated.
