And if so, carry a revolver.

Nowadays I would be surprised if some Karen shooter didn't criticise the guy for carrying a revolver when drunk.

The range mentality and police cotton wool rules, liability risk, often mean the good old days of a celebratory waidmannsheil schnapps is frowned upon, a beer or wine for lunch, are somewhat over.

I'm sure some readers, brainwashed, are shocked by even the thought!

Alcohol usually prohibited until all the guns are put away. Sometimes alcohol completely banned at anytime at a range or shoot by wowsers. Same as axoerson can't have a smoke anywhere, in the open air, at some ranges by the Karens.

One reason is the immature attitude alcohol needs to be drunk to excess ... Pun intended.

I'm happy one shoot I still attend begins with a morning shot of sloe gin. Pun intended again. Traditional.

I reckon, Rupert, in the painting on the first aid rendered, the whisky poured into the wounds to cleanse them, would say "Old Chap, what are you doing with the single malt?! Give it to me to drink! Hic.". Rightfully pukka. :}

PS I do understand the liability of a shoot organiser, if some accident happens, and alcohol is in the shooters system, both thecshootsr and organisers might be at risk. Myself as an organiser I'd ban alcohol these days until guns are packed away. But a welcoming liquid shot on a chilly morning is still pukka.
