Interesting 8 shot at 12 yards to shoot rabbits. From a .44 shotshell.

I usually use 4 and 6 shot for rabbits from a 12-bore.

I wonder how well 8 shot would kill rabbits?

I've seen a cousin of mine take out a fair sized wallaby with No4 shot, very close range, headshot only & at twilight - fair old muzzle flash

I've shot two foxes with smaller shot. One died quickly with a pellet in the eye tear duct. The second was shot multiple times. Repeatedly shot falling over, running, shot again. I had to chase after it. Not ideal at all. Both foxes were shot at the same time.
