My .458 2" and my .458 Alaskan ended up being loaded for 400gr. at 2,150fps.
This was a normal, but not maximum load for the 2" and a down-load for the .458 Alaskan which would make almost 2,500fps
with the same 400gr. bullet, but with 62gr.? RE#7, did 2,150fps with that 400gr. Barns SP.
.458 Alaskan was a .450 Alaskan with the rim turned down to fit a magnum bolt face(rebated), of my M70 of 1980.
