I agree with Geronimo, stay under 9lbs.

You don't notice recoil when hunting anyway !!!

Also, a recoil reducer may do the same as increasing weight
of gun but both may make it too heavy.

Also, change the stock design / shape so that it allows
the recoil to be directed straight back.

I have found stock design to be a great factor in felt recoil.
