Oops, I thought everyone here knows the Heeren action. It’s a falling block single shot like the A.Henry or the Farquarson. To open, you put your thumb into the triggerguard, unlatch it and pull the front end down to lower the breechblock. This ejects a spent case and recocks the action. Insert a cartridge into the chamber and lift up the triggerguard to close the action. Ready to go. The advantage of the Heeren design over other falling block actions: It is the shortest of all such actions. The breech end of the barrel is directly over the trigger. So a Heeren rifle with a 26” barrel and a 14” pull is just 40" over all, as short as a Mannlicher – Schoenauer Stutzen with an 20” barrel. Btw, the rear "trigger" is a tail of the hammer. this allows for uncocking and recocking the loaded rifle. put your thunb behind the "triggers" and release the hammer by pulling the front trigger with your index finger. Slowly let the hammer tail back, just as you would uncock a hammer gun.
