I do not think this is a new concept. It is so old that you forgot again:
a smallish case, rather large caliber, for an autoloader.

Remember this one, we discussed it years ago:

Mannlicher selfloading rifle, ca. 1904/05, caliber probably 9,3x38

And then the Russian 9x39 cartridge, from the 1980s or so
