TilleyMan,

I vote for the Martini cadet. The lock time of the Martini is at least twice as fast as the Ruger action, and it makes a really attractive package on a small caliber.

You haven't given any information on the aesthetics of the Martini, so my vote is only on the action choice.

The No. 3 is the same action internally as the No. 1. The only difference is the lever. The No. 3 had a greatly simplified stock, thus the savings in $$. You can chamber any cartridge on a No. 3 that can be put on a No. 1.

Good luck,
Curl
