ruger #1 forend problems

Hi,
I am completely new to this forum but have been reading through a lot of the messages and haven't really seen this addressed. I have #1 in 7mm. It is a hunting rifle for me and has shot wonderfully until this year. My groups have opened up and it has become frustrating to shoot.

A couple years ago I floated the barrel and now it seems that I have some play at the end of the forend which allows it to touch the barrel. Should I remove more material from the stock, or put a spacer where the bolt goes through the stock, or both or neither?

Sorry if I sound a little panicky its just that hunting season is around the corner and my old reliable is kind of being funny.

Any advice would be appreciated.
