From your "crappy phone picture", (that would be a GOOD picture for me, taken with anything!!), that is a nice looking '73. My first '73, an original in the same cartridge, did not shoot like that but, the barrel looked like a sewer pipe. Good shooting! I parted with it not long after I bought it.

I've had two Italian 73's, both in 44-40 and both were/are good shooters. My first one back in the 90's was accompanied by an Uberti 44-40 SAA clone. My second, purchased a few years ago, is graced with an Uberti Schofield in 44-40. It's a good and pretty accurate revolver but I believe the Colt clone would shade it.

Mike is correct about the rim of the original 45 Colt being too narrow. Uberti's modern Schofield will chamber the 45 Colt as they dispensed with the fouling shield and lengthened the cylinder. That's all good and well except it makes shooting BP loads a pain because they foul out so quickly....so I'm told. I love to shoot BP but I took their word for it.
