Well as I understand it, Dakota Arms was bought by the Remington Group as Dakota Arms did a lot of work for the Remington Custom Shop. Then Remington went bankrupt and the various companies under its umbrella got sold off. Last I heard Parkwest Arms bought all of the Dakota Arms equipment etc and is operating out of Sturgis, South Dakota. Not positive but I read somewhere that they are actually operating out of the same location that was previously the Dakota Arms shop.

Now take this all with a grain of salt as I may not have completely accurate information.

I have a Dakota chambered in .330 Dakota and it is a really nice rifle. Accurate and a pleasure to pack around.

Yes I read they:

Somewhere back say in 2006 they went bankrupt;
Two years later came out of bankruptcy;
At sometime Remington purchased Dakota;
Remington went bankrupt recently, 2021?:
Dakota closed:
Dakota in some form or its machinery were purchased and being operated under a new brand. Not sure what they are actually making. In the location as suggested.

I think they look to have made a quality product. In particular I liked their takedown switch barrel "Travellor" rifle design. I think the 7mm, .330 and .404 would make a cool set. Maybe one-day will design my own Super Express von Hahn set based on the .404 case.

Does anyone else make the switch barrel design with the barrel collar fitting on the barrel and being inserted into the action? On a Mauser 98 design?
